Every Brilliant Thing: A Special Addition to Our 21st Season
Weaving humor, tenderness, and raw honesty, Duncan Macmillan’s celebrated one-man show tells the heartbreaking story of a young man coping with his mother’s struggle with depression and suicide. During her lifetime, he creates a list of every brilliant thing that might inspire her to stay — the small, unexpected, beautiful things that make life worth living. The show grapples with love and loss, but keeps its focus firmly on what brings joy to each of our lives. Even in the face of depression, Every Brilliant Thing celebrates gratitude and resilience. Audience members may be handed a card to read aloud one of the Brilliant Things. Join us for this life-affirming production featuring Eli Grant in a show that asks us all to reflect on what we hold most dear.Directed by Lori McCormack*This show contains discussions of depression and suicide. Audience discretion is advised. If you or someone you know needs emotional support, please reach out to the 988 Mental Health & Suicide Lifeline by calling or texting 988.
