Auburn Area Community Theatre (AACT) announces Open Auditions for their production of Almost, Maine. No previous experience necessary! This is your opportunity to shine or step into the stage lights for the first time. Minimum age for auditioning: 18 years.

Rehearsals will not begin until January 6, 2025, but there will be a required read-through on December 16 at 6:00 PM.
Actors will be expected to be very familiar with their lines when rehearsals start. Because of the episodic nature of Almost, Maine, each scene requires 2 or 3 actors of various ages and will rehearse for one hour, twice a week. Rehearsals are 5 weeks total.

Character Descriptions for Almost Maine
Prologue – Pete and Ginette, who have been dating for a little while.
Her Heart – East, a repairman and Glory, a hiker.
Sad and Glad – Jimmy, a heating and cooling guy. Sandrine, his ex-girlfriend, and a salty waitress.
This Hurts – Marvalyn, a woman who knows pain, and Steve, a man who does not.
Getting It Back – Gayle and Lendall, longtime girlfriend and boyfriend
Interlogue – Pete from the Prologue
The Fall – Randy and Chad, two “Aroostoock County Boys” longtime friends OR
                   Deena and Shelly, two “Aroostoock County Girls” longtime friends
Where It Went – Phil, a hardworking husband and Marci, his hardworking wife.
Story of Hope – Hope, who traveled the world and a Man who has not.
Seeing the Thing – Rhonda, a tough woman and Dave, the not-so-tough man loves her.
Epilogue- Pete and Ginette from the Prologue.
*Some scenes include intimacy or LGBTQIA+ interactions. Those who audition will have an opportunity to tell directors what they are comfortable performing.
