SceneWorks… THIS is how it Works…

Sceneworks is an opportunity to experience acting or play directing through short scenes, fewer lines to learn, and flexible rehearsal schedules.  Our goal is to provide a positive experience for actors and directors, and an entertaining evening for our audience.

If you are interested in directing, join us Wednesday Aug 26 at 7 PM to read from our collection of scenes, and find one you want to work on. Bring your own ideas or original work! Scenes or monologues should be 5-7 minutes long. There will be a variety of scenes to peruse. We’ll be reading a lot of these aloud.

Directors meet again on Sept 9 at 6:30 to finalize their selections. Bring your calendars to talk about preferred schedules.

“Auditions” are Sept 21 and 22, 6:30 to 8:30. Come both days if possible. Scripts will be provided. We hope to include as many actors as possible in the Sceneworks performances.

Workshop nights will be Tuesdays Oct 6 through Nov 16. All actors and directors are invited! Topics will be Stage Directions, Blocking, Movement and body language, script analysis, types of rehearsals and rehearsal goals. We may have some guest speakers!

Rehearsals: days and times will be determined by each cast & director! (Suggesting 1 hour, twice a week.)

Nov 23:  Run through all the scenes together! (No rehearsal Nov 26-29.) Dress rehearsals Dec 1 & 2 starting at 7 PM

Performances Dec 3, 4, 5, at 7 PM, Dec 6 at 2 PM
