AACT Returns to A Holiday Walk in the Woods!
December 19-20
An arts celebration for the whole community — cozy lights, live scenes, and winter cheer.
Join the Holiday Walk in the Woods! ✨
Celebrate the season with joy and togetherness! Auburn Area Community Theatre and the Kreher Preserve are delighted to bring back this festive December tradition for our Auburn community.
Bundle up for an evening stroll through the piney woods, where friendly guides will lead small groups along a beautifully lit, easy trail. Along the way, you’ll discover 6–8 magical stations, each sparkling with song, spoken word, or performance representing the many cultures and traditions that make our community so special.
Glowing lights, enchanting decorations, sweet treats, and hands-on nature art projects add even more merriment to the experience — making it a perfect holiday outing for family and friends alike.
Be a Performer or Lend a Hand ✨
Share your holiday spirit through music, dance, or spoken word — all traditions and ages welcome. Not a performer? Help as a guide, decorator, craft helper, or check-in crew. However you join, you’ll help make this walk merry and memorable!
Volunteer Your Talent — Perform with Us! 🎶
What we’re seeking
- Songs, instrumental pieces, or spoken word with holiday, unity, or cultural themes (any language welcome).
- Kid-friendly pieces especially welcome for the morning walk.
- Solo/duo preferred (max 4 performers per group).
What you’ll do
- Prepare a 3–5 minute piece and repeat it 9–10 times during a ~2-hour window.
- Perform at your own decorated station along the forest trail.
- Bring acoustic or battery-powered accompaniment (limited/no electricity on trail).
Not a Performer? You Can Still Join the Fun! 🎄
We need lots of helping hands to make Holiday Walk in the Woods merry and magical. From greeting guests to serving cocoa, there’s a role for everyone — and it’s fun!
🌟 Be a Tour Guide
Lead a small group along the twinkling trail, introduce each performance (we’ll give you a short blurb),
keep things flowing and safe, and coordinate by text with organizers. Most guides lead once per shift —
pick any of the three shifts that fit your schedule.
🎁 Other Ways to Help
- Welcome guests at parking & check-in
- Pitch in on lighting & decorations the week before
- Donate baked goods, drinks, décor, or snow-machine supplies
- Lead craft & treat stations at the end of the trail
