Auburn Area Community Theatre (AACT) will hold open auditions for Musical Theatre International’s “All Together Now!: A Global Event Celebrating Local Theatre.” Auditions for this musical revue will be held in
timed slots from 6 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. on Tuesday, September 14th, and Thursday, September 16th at the Jan Dempsey Community Arts Center, 222 E Drake Ave., Auburn, AL. No previous experience is necessary!

Performers 16 and older should prepare a song 2-4 minutes in length to sing and bring a music source, as there will not be an accompanist (you may sing acapella). We will be casting for solo and ensemble performances (and you may be cast for more than one performance). Some numbers may involve light choreography. Call back auditions, by invitation only, will be Tuesday, September 21st.

Music Theatre International (MTI) is one of the world’s leading theatrical licensing agencies, granting theatres around the world the rights to perform the greatest selection of musicals from Broadway and beyond. As COVID-19 has affected the livelihood of so many theaters, MTI is providing this opportunity for schools and theatres worldwide to locally produce and perform an exclusive musical revue featuring 15 songs from MTI’s beloved shows as a way to fundraise. To date, there are more than 3,800 theaters participating in 36 countries and territories.

Want to get involved and not be on stage? We are also seeking set construction, props, tech, and other volunteers for this production. Those interested are welcome to come to auditions or contact the director, Terry Kelley by e-mail at tkelley@auburnact.org.

The first rehearsal will be on September 27th and the remaining rehearsals will be Mondays, Tuesdays, and Thursdays from 6:30 – 8:30 p.m. from September 28th through November 10th. Performances are set for November 12th-14th. Vocalists will not be required to attend every rehearsal but should expect to rehearse with the musical director(s) 1-2 times each week.

This season also offers many opportunities to get involved with AACT. We are a volunteer-based organization that depends on the time and energy of many wonderful people from our community. There’s something for everyone! Please visit our volunteer page and complete the interest form or email info@auburnact.org to get involved.
