Bob: A Life in Five Acts is a fresh, recent play written by Kentuckian Peter Sinn Nachtrieb. The play, an epic-scale comedy, spans America in its scenes and tells the life of an orphan Everyman, Bob. Bob, the child of circus performers, was abandoned at a White Castle diner. We follow Bob across America from infancy to middle age, from boxcars to mansions, in a quest for happiness and wisdom – involving dozens of crazy characters and thousands of hard highway miles. One actor plays Bob; four other actors, (two men and two women) will play at least five parts each, so actors perform lightning-quick character changes. Bob combines a wild satire of American self-reliance with a kaleidoscopic vision of American popular culture. The play is the best possible version of zany: it is surreal, but it is about real, believable people!
$10/Adults, $8/Students and Seniors. Tickets can be purchased and reservations made at auburnact.org.
